InVivo™ SALES ANNOUNCEMENT October 26th, 2009

Dear Valued Customer,

This letter is to announce that on December 31st, 2009, Media Cybernetics will discontinue selling the InVivo software line. This will include the InVivo, InVitro, InVivo IP Analyzer, InVivo 3D Analyzer, and ExpIO packages. We are aware of the current installations that serve our many research and educational facilities and we desire to answer all your questions and aim to provide solutions to your imaging needs, starting with providing an upgrade and alternative solution for the live cell imaging. Due to new speed improvements, acquisition enhancements, and customized plug-ins the flagship product Image-Pro Plus 7.0 make this powerful acquisition and analysis package a viable live cell imaging solution.

Please note the following dates and information related to the discontinuation of InVivo:

  • On July 1st, 2009, InVivo product information was removed from the Media Cybernetics website at www.mediacy.com, leaving a page of explanation to the customer in need of upgrade or support.
  • As of December 31st, 2009, InVivo products will no longer be available for purchase from Media Cybernetics.

Upgrades: The InVivo product line faithfully served the Live Cell Imaging community for many years and we are dedicated to continue as the software solution by providing new tools and extensive support beyond the life of InVivo, through Image-Pro Plus version 7.0 and beyond. Our current InVivo customers who wish to upgrade their product are encouraged to upgrade to Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0 (IPP7-MDA-U1) at an attractive new list price.

Support: We are pleased to continue our support of existing InVivo customers through our standard Technical Support options. Phone and email assistance will continue to be available for the product along with technical expertise. However, if extensive support issues arise, it is recommended that Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0 be considered the proper solution as newer versions of the product will no longer be available for download. We understand that migration to new software can be challenging and that is why we commit to providing outstanding support for each upgrade and migration to newer products.

What product should I upgrade to now that InVivo/InVitro is no longer offered?
    Answer: The new Image-Pro Plus Multi-dimensional Acquisition (MDA) 7.0 has been improved and modified to offer many of the same features that InVivo and InVitro offered, as well as many of the same hardware components that were controlled. Image-Pro Plus 7.0 is the next step for all current InVivo customers.

Will Image-Pro Plus MDA control the same cameras that InVivo/InVitro did?

How do I receive help if I'm having problems with my copy of InVivo/InVitro?
    Answer: Your first line of customer support should always be your local dealer or sales representative. If you do not know who your local dealer is you can always call Media Cybernetics Technical Support for InVivo/InVitro End of Life support. Phone and email assistance will continue to be available for the product along with technical expertise. However, if extensive support issues arise, it is recommended that Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0 be considered the proper solution as newer versions of InVivo will no longer be available for download. What is the last version of InVivo and should I upgrade to it?
    Answer: The last version of InVivo is 3.2.2 and it is available on the MediaCy support website for customers who are experiencing issues with their current InVivo version. Before upgrading to this version it is recommended to call Technical Support with a complete list of connected hardware and types of applications to be run. Do I still have support if I am within the timeframe of a Technical Support Contract?
    Answer: Yes, Media Cybernetics will still provide the highest level of support for all existing InVivo customers who have current Support Contracts. We will go to great lengths to support each and every customer using the current InVivo/InVitro version and specified hardware list. If extensive support issues arise, it is recommended that Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0 be considered the proper solution as newer versions of InVivo will no longer be available for download. I purchased an InVivo Analyzer bundle that contained InVivo/InVitro and Image-Pro Analyzer. Can I upgrade the Image-Pro Analyzer to Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0?
    Answer: Yes, Image-Pro Analyzer can be upgraded to Image-Pro Plus MDA 7.0. Please contact your local dealer or sales office to receive an upgrade quotation.
